Container Land sells refrigerated containers, known as reefers, from our Epping yard in Cape Town. A reefer holds a set temperature anywhere from -20 to +20˚C, so the same unit handles frozen stock, chilled produce or anything else that cannot sit at ambient temperature.

Power Requirements
A reefer needs a three-phase power supply to run its refrigeration unit. On site that means a dedicated connection or a generator sized for the unit, and the supply has to stay stable for as long as the container is running.

A reefer is a shipping container with a built-in refrigeration unit and insulated walls, used to store or move goods that need a controlled temperature. It runs on three-phase power and holds its set temperature regardless of the weather outside.
Anywhere from -20 to +20˚C. Frozen stock sits at the bottom of that range and chilled produce near the top, and the thermostat holds the temperature you set for as long as the unit has power.
Container Land stocks reefers in 6m and 12m, the two standard sizes. Other sizes are handled as a reefer conversion.
Yes. Our reefers are food-grade quality and thermostatically controlled. Every unit is sold with a pre-trip inspection and can be passed by PPECB inspectors where your cargo requires it.
All our reefers are thoroughly refurbished before they are dispatched.
Turnaround is quickest in the Western Cape, where we deliver from the Epping yard directly. We deliver to all major cities in South Africa as well, with the lead time depending on the route.
