Container Land builds ablution facilities into 6m and 12m shipping containers, fitted with showers, toilets, basins and change areas. Units are converted at our Epping yard in Cape Town and delivered across South Africa.
Each unit is laid out for the site it serves. Separate male and female sections, accessible toilets for people living with disabilities, ventilation, lighting and hard-wearing surfaces that wipe down are all specified before the build starts.
From a single unit for a small site through to a full ablution block for a mining camp, we manufacture to your exact requirements.
Ablution units are built into two container sizes. The size sets how many fittings you can fit and whether the unit can be split into separate sections.
| Specification | 6m Unit | 12m Unit |
|---|---|---|
| External length | 6,058 mm | 12,192 mm |
| Internal length | 5,900 mm | 12,025 mm |
| Internal width | 2,348 mm | 2,348 mm |
| Internal height | 2,385 mm | 2,385 mm |
| Typical use | Single site facility, smaller crews | Larger crews, split male and female sections |
| Layout options | Toilets, showers or a combined unit | Two sections plus an accessible toilet |
Container dimensions are taken from our grading and measurements page. The fittings inside are built to your brief rather than to a fixed layout.
An ablution unit needs a water supply in and a waste route out. On a serviced site that means connecting the unit to municipal water and to the existing sewer or septic connection.
For a site with no services, the unit can be built to run from a water tank with a holding tank for waste, which is emptied on a schedule you arrange. Tell us which of the two applies and we will build the connections to suit before the unit leaves the yard.
